Specifics

Program participants are expected to be academically and emotionally “ready” to attend a 2-year college, to participate in CREWS, and to communicate regularly with East Bay College Fund staff. This is a *support program* and not just a scholarship.

Requirements:

• Will graduate from an Oakland public or charter high school by June 2015
• Has a cumulative 2.0 GPA or above
• Has completed FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application by March 2, 15
• Will attend a two-year accredited college full time starting no later than Fall 2015 (for-profit schools not included)
• Demonstrates leadership characteristics: Academic preparation, resiliency and life skills (responsible, resourceful, involved)

To receive the $2,000 award students must:
• Have submitted a complete application online by 11:59pm on May 4, 2015
• Attend the Program Orientation on Wed, May 13, 2015 (6-8pm) with a parent/guardian
• Attend the 2015 Awards Ceremony on Thursday, May 28th (5-8:30pm)
• Attend biannual (daytime) summer and winter retreats (Summer 2015: July 31 and Aug 1; Winter 2015: TBA)
• Attend the CREWS Connect Retreat in mid-August (Tentative: Aug 12)
• Participate in the College CREWS program (CREWS is a peer led college support program to help students persist and graduate from college.)
• Provide documents to East Bay College Fund by date requested (may include final transcript, financial aid letters, class schedule and SAR)
